About The Position

The Operational Excellence (OPEX) Co-Op supports lean transformation and productivity improvement efforts in manufacturing areas at RTX’s Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico location. The co-op runs Monday through Friday from January to June 2027. Students are expected to take a semester off from coursework to fully participate in this working mentorship opportunity. Applicants must reside in Puerto Rico when employment begins; relocation is not offered.

The role involves using CORE tools for business processes, supporting productivity initiatives, conducting time studies and value-added work reviews, promoting mistake-proofing solutions, identifying and addressing work-area issues, and maintaining accurate records. The position is onsite and requires English proficiency when communicating with customers, coworkers, or supervisors who speak only English. A U.S. Person is required, and the posting specifies U.S. citizenship for access to information under the program or contract. No security clearance is required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree in Industrial Engineering.
• U.S. citizenship is required for access to information under the program or contract.
• English reading, writing, and speaking skills are required when communicating with customers, coworkers, or supervisors who speak only English.
• Must reside in Puerto Rico when employment begins.

Nice To Haves

• Computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Word, and Outlook.
• Understanding of industrial engineering theory.
