About The Position

This is a co-op position for January-May 2027 within the Engineering department at the Namic site in Glens Falls, NY, a division of Medline. The Namic site manufactures fluid delivery devices for Angiographic and Cardiatric procedures, as well as custom kits. The Engineering department consists of approximately 30 technicians and engineers who collaborate closely with Quality, Planning, and Sourcing departments. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact, take ownership of projects, and gain hands-on experience in the medical device industry within a large healthcare organization. The co-op employee will work directly with senior engineers on projects assigned by upper management, focusing on areas such as product integration, product development, process development and improvements, process validations, work measurements and standards, cost-benefit analysis, and other assigned tasks. Assignments can be individual or group-oriented, with project lengths varying from daily activities to large-scale projects spanning the duration of the co-op. The ideal candidate is a dynamic, creative, and hard-working professional seeking practical experience.

Requirements

  • Background in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering
  • Junior standing with a 3.0 minimum GPA preferred
  • Strong leadership abilities and demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Excellent organization, communication, data analysis and follow up skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Unrestricted permanent US work authorization

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SolidWorks (or other CAD) preferred
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement principles preferred
  • Knowledge of database applications (Access, FoxPro) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and execute activities to qualify devices for the Glens Falls facility
  • Verification of assembly labor standards
  • Process development and process validations
  • Analyze and correct bottlenecks in production processes
  • Execute time studies for new assemblies or cost-benefit analysis
  • Conduct lab testing for process validations or feasibility studies
  • Submit engineering change notices to update process documentation
  • Update product drawings for design changes
  • Communicate with suppliers and other divisions on device costs, drawings/BOMs, packaging
