About The Position

The Operational Excellence Intern will support continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives at Knobelsdorff (KE), a turnkey specialty contractor focused on Automation, Electric, Energy, and Power Services. The role involves improving operational efficiency, quality, and reliability; documenting and refining standardized processes; and partnering with teams to identify opportunities and implement sustainable solutions. The intern will also help track performance indicators, support change management and adoption of new processes and tools, and collaborate across functions to support project success and strategic goals. The position starts in May 2027 and requires working in Goodhue, Minnesota, five days per week, with travel as required.

Requirements

• Ability to work in Goodhue, Minnesota, five days per week.
• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Excellent organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
• Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Ability to travel as required.
• Ability to sit, stand, kneel, stoop, and walk, including sitting or standing for long periods.
• Physical capability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, quality, and reliability.
• Assist in documenting and refining standardized processes, SOPs, and playbooks.
• Partner with teams to identify improvement opportunities and implement sustainable solutions.
• Define, track, and report key performance indicators related to operational excellence.
• Support change management initiatives and promote adoption of new processes and tools.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support project success and strategic goals.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
