About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Operating Room Technologist to join the surgical team. This role supports efficient operating room operations, with a strong focus on patient safety and team collaboration. The operating room includes a main OR and a pavilion. The main OR primarily handles orthopedic procedures, including total hips, knees, and other joints. The pavilion handles neuro and orthopedic spine, cardiovascular, general surgery, gynecology, urology, and ENT cases. The unit performs 15–25 cases per day, approximately 400 per month; 20–25% of cases are inpatient. Critical patients transfer directly from the OR to the ICU.

Shifts are 10 or 12 hours, with 40 guaranteed hours per week and varied days of the week. The position has call one shift per week and every fourth weekend. Weekends are otherwise not required, and holidays are covered by call. The hospital provides scrub color. New hires complete one week of paperwork orientation followed by one week of hands-on orientation with a designated preceptor to become familiar with processes and protocols.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in an Operating Room setting.
• BLS certification required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Cerner Surginet EMR is preferred.
• Ability to scrub is a plus but is not required.
