About The Position
The Operating Room Registered Nurse assesses patients before surgery, prepares and maintains the operating room, assists surgeons during procedures, monitors patients’ vital signs, and evaluates patients postoperatively. The role also involves reviewing charts for completeness in accordance with documentation protocols before and after surgery and adhering to relevant health and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ conditions before surgery.
- Ensure the operating room is prepared with necessary supplies, implants, instruments, and equipment.
- Keep the operating room sterilized.
- Pass medical instruments to surgeons during operations.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs.
- Evaluate patients postoperatively.
- Review charts for completeness in accordance with documentation protocols before and after surgical procedures.
- Adhere to relevant health and safety standards.
