About The Position

Provides leadership for patient and team member safety; the development and implementation of plans to provide nursing care, treatment, and services that address how the needs of the patient population are assessed, met, and evaluated in an ongoing manner to the improve the quality of nursing care. Must maintain knowledge of current and trending nursing practice, is accountable to ensure compliance with the State South Carolina Nursing Practice Act; State Board of Nursing Regulation, DNV, EMTALA, regulatory and accreditation standards. Supports the nursing vision, shared governance, ongoing professional development, and maintenance of competencies that support professional nursing practice. Creates and maintains a culture of safety by using data to make decisions and proactively mitigates unnecessary risks by providing instruction and mentoring for assigned team members to be able to do the same. Creates a healthy work environment that fosters engagement and growth of the nursing teams that enables the organization to meet or exceed all licensure, regulatory and accreditation standards. Role models teamwork and collaboration with team members, physicians, and departments across the organization, ensuring the voice of the patient is central to formation of process or policy. Performs other duties related to role as assigned.

Requirements

  • BSN required from accredited nursing school. Candidates enrolled in a BSN program will be considered.
  • Two years’ experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Actively licensed in the state of South Carolina.
  • Maintain BLS.
  • Maintain other certifications as required by those units they oversee.
  • Managers over designated stroke units/floors/Emergency Department will maintain NIHSS certification.
