About The Position

The Department of Urology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Medicine seeks clinicians, clinician-investigators, and investigators holding MD, PhD, or MD/PhD degrees for multiple faculty positions with open rank and tenure status. Rank, salary, and tenure status are commensurate with experience and qualifications. The Department of Urology at UAB is a leader in providing advanced care across a spectrum of urologic disorders, with surgeons practicing in various sub-specialties including Oncology and Reconstruction, Endo-Urology, Female and Pelvic Disorders, Neuro-Urology, General Urology, Pediatric Urology, and Male Infertility. The department also boasts a robust research program with clinical trials and a strong basic science focus in kidney stone research. Requirements

  • MD, PhD, or MD/PhD degrees.
  • Board certified or board eligible in Urology.
  • Eligible to be licensed in Alabama.
  • Strong clinical knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Highly motivated.
  • Compassionate towards all patients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced care across the spectrum of urologic disorders.
  • Practice in various sub-specialties within Urology.
  • Engage in clinical trials for difficult to treat diseases.
  • Contribute to basic science research, particularly in kidney stone research.
  • Mentor and train the next generation of Urologists.
  • Provide robust training for residents in all aspects of the specialty.
  • Conduct basic, translational, and clinical research.
