About The Position

The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center, Department of Internal Medicine, seeks exceptional faculty members to join a dedicated group of medical educators in the Division of Hospital Medicine. We are based at University of New Mexico Hospital, a 618-bed tertiary care academic medical center. This Hospitalist position is open rank and open track, with salary and rank commensurate with experience and education. This is a primary daytime Academic Hospitalist position, with night coverage limited to less than 20% of shifts; night shifts receive a differential. Teaching medical students and resident physicians in both pre-clinical and clinical years of training. Requirements

  • Must be board certified or eligible in Internal Medicine by date of hire.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US.

Nice To Haves

  • Served at least two years in a residency that provides education to Medical Students during their core clerkship in internal medicine OR served on the faculty of a Medical School
  • Experience/interest in Hospital Medicine
  • Experience/interest in medical education and/or quality improvement activities
  • A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities
