About The Position

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an Open Pit Electrician to join its Open Pit Maintenance team. The successful candidate will maintain and repair electrical systems on P&H electric shovels, Komatsu and Liebherr haul trucks, and high-voltage switchgear and cables. The role also includes miscellaneous electrical duties and other duties as assigned. Working a rotating schedule of nights and days is an essential function of the position.

Requirements

• Two years of electrical experience in an open-pit mining environment preferred.
• Industrial electrical experience preferred.
• Experience with programmable logic controls (PLC) SL504, motor-control circuits, and high-voltage cable repairs preferred.
• Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems on P&H 200XPA/B shovels and 685E and 930E electric haul trucks preferred.
• Ability to read electrical blueprints and use test equipment preferred.
• Ability to use basic hand tools required.
• MSHA electrical cards preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management required.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, self-manage, and self-motivate.
• Demonstrated good attendance and performance records, with the ability to maintain these standards.
• Ability to work a rotating schedule of nights and days.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair electrical systems on P&H 2800XPA/B and 4100 XPB/C electric shovels.
• Maintain and repair electrical systems on 930E and 830E Komatsu haul trucks and 795F and 282 Liebherr haul trucks.
• Maintain and repair high-voltage switchgear and perform high-voltage cable repairs.
• Perform miscellaneous electrical duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
