About The Position

LabCorp is seeking an Onsite Lab Support Clerk - Float to join their team. This position will cover multiple locations in South Bend, Elkhart, and LaPorte, Indiana. The role involves preparing laboratory specimens for analysis and testing, communicating with client office staff, troubleshooting customer and specimen issues, and performing data entry. The ideal candidate will be organized, accountable, and detail-oriented, contributing to the accuracy of healthcare tests.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED or equivalent
1 year or more experience in laboratory or accessioning or production or manufacturing
Comfortable handling biological specimens
Ability to accurately identify specimens
Experience working in a team environment
Strong data entry and organizational skills
High level of attention to detail
Experience with MS Office
Able to lift up to 40lbs.
Able to pass a standardized color blind test
Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record with reliable transportation
Be at least 21 years’ old
This position requires you to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Responsibilities

Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing

Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
Scrub requisitions to ensure samples are prepared and missing items are updated
Do spinning/freezing/splitting and other special services as needed based on client
