About The Position

The Charleston Veterinary Referral Center (CVRC) is hiring a full-time Veterinary Technician to join its Oncology team. CVRC, located in Charleston, SC, is a VECCS Level 1 certified facility that provides 24/7 emergency services and a wide array of specialty services including critical care, cardiology, internal medicine, medical oncology (with radiation oncology coming soon), anesthesia, neurology & neurosurgery, rehabilitation, and soft tissue & orthopedic surgery. The hospital operates out of a newly renovated 32,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility equipped with advanced diagnostic imaging technologies such as MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, and digital radiographs. CVRC fosters an inclusive, collaborative environment where team members support each other and have opportunities to expand their technical skills with state-of-the-art equipment and advanced specialty medicine. CVRC is part of Ethos Veterinary Health, a new community comprising approximately 145 hospitals, dedicated to advancing the animal health profession and improving patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years working as a Veterinary Technician
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to delegate, problem-solve, and prioritize effectively
  • Strong communication skills — verbal, written, and interpersonal
  • Ability to act with professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to patient care
  • Fluent English (speaking & reading)

Nice To Haves

  • Oncology or specialty experience a plus
  • LVT certification preferred
  • Additional languages a plus

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate medical records, controlled substance logs, and safe handling of treatments
  • Perform patient treatments, venipuncture, diagnostics, and administer medications via multiple routes
  • Assist with anesthesia monitoring, imaging, surgical, and diagnostic procedures as needed
  • Communicate effectively with veterinarians, clients, staff, and leadership
  • Ensure adherence to hospital protocols, safety standards, and quality patient care
