Partner Veterinary is looking for an Oncology Registered Veterinary Technician to join our Frederick, MD team! In addition, Partner Veterinary has a dedicated Learning and Development Department, to help credentialed technicians achieve your goals, supported by two veterinary technician specialists (VTS) Heather Carter and Christine Weaver. Our Training Department has an impressive track record of helping Technicians achieve advanced certifications such as a VTS, CVPP, and/or CVRP. To set you up for success from day 1, We gift you a wellness week of PTO after 90 days in your position. This includes 30-40 hours of extra time off dependent upon your weekly schedule. Partner Veterinary recognizes the demand that is on team members, and this wellness week allows you to rest and relax with a week off after your initial 90 days. Partner Veterinary is seeking a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician for our Oncology service who is excited to leverage their specialized skills to care for patients and families combating cancer. The Oncology RVT for Partner Veterinary is able to practice at the height of their skills. This is achieved through exhibiting knowledge in diagnostic procedures, tumor classifications/terminology, and, most importantly, recognizing the needs of our patients and clients. These needs range from compassionate care and communication for our clients to delivering analgesics and nutritional support to our patients.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years veterinary experience in a specialty environment, experience in Oncology preferred
  • Graduate of accredited veterinary technology program; veterinary technician license “in good standing” so applicant is or eligible to transfer license to Maryland
  • Knowledge and dedication to high standard and fear-free patient care practices
  • Strong communication skills to enable respectful and successful lines of communication among team members
  • Adaptability in various learning strategies and keen interest to continuing to develop as a technician and team member
  • Ability to quickly process, analyze, and react to unplanned and emergent medical situations without delay, so as to ensure the safety of team members and patients
  • Ability to stand for up to 12 hours with limited breaks
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs without assistance
