About The Position

Beacon Clinic is seeking a PRN Infusion Nurse to provide compassionate oncology nursing care in a patient-focused medical clinic. The role administers prescribed chemotherapy, biologic treatments, hydration, iron treatments, and injections under the direct supervision of a physician and in accordance with nursing standards. The nurse monitors patients, supports adherence to oral chemotherapy, provides medication and side-effect education to patients and family members, and helps maintain timely infusion schedules. The position also involves accessing ports and PICC lines, starting IVs, and performing therapeutic phlebotomy. Beacon provides medical oncology and hematology, radiation oncology, rheumatology, and urology services. Requirements

• Idaho RN License, required upon hire.
• CPR/BLS certification, required upon hire.
• ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Card, required upon hire or within 90 days of employment.
• Compassionate and caring bedside manner.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work extremely well in a group setting.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• BSN preferred.
• OCN certification preferred.
• Infusion experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of medical oncology and rheumatology terminology appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate oncology nursing care to patients.
• Administer prescribed chemotherapy and biologic treatments in accordance with nursing standards and under the direct supervision of a physician.
• Administer prescribed hydration, iron treatments, and injections.
• Monitor patients and assist them with compliance with oral chemotherapy.
• Educate and instruct patients and family members about medications and side effects.
• Access ports and PICC lines, and start IVs.
• Oversee infusion schedules and maintain timely patient flow.
• Perform therapeutic phlebotomy.
