About The Position

General Medicine is hiring an Onboarding Associate to support clinician onboarding during a period of rapid growth. This hands-on, detail-oriented role makes the transition from offer acceptance to first shift seamless. The associate owns onboarding workflows end to end, guiding clinicians through documentation and system setup, keeping timelines on track, and ensuring they are ready for their first structured clinical ramp. The role partners closely with Recruiting, Clinical Operations, and People Operations. It is suited to someone highly organized, responsive, and motivated to create a strong first impression for clinicians.

Requirements

  • 1–2+ years of experience in HR, People Operations, recruiting coordination, or administrative support in a healthcare environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Clear, professional written communication.
  • Comfort working within structured systems and workflows.
  • Experience with platforms such as Rippling, Ashby, Checkr, Athena, or similar tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple onboarding timelines at once.
  • High reliability, follow-through, and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Own onboarding coordination from offer acceptance through start-date readiness.
  • Guide clinicians through onboarding tasks, including access to Rippling, Qgenda, Zoom, Slack, and other internal tools in Rippling, as well as payroll setup, tax forms, and policy acknowledgements.
  • Initiate and monitor background checks through Checkr and follow up on outstanding requirements.
  • Ensure all compliance documentation and required credentials are complete before the start date.
  • Manage onboarding communications so clinicians have clear timelines, expectations, and next steps.
  • Track onboarding progress to confirm clinicians are ready for independent practice.
  • Maintain accurate, organized employee records across systems.
  • Proactively escalate delays or issues to keep onboarding on track.
  • Identify process improvements that make onboarding faster or smoother for clinicians.
