On-The-Job Trained Medical Assistant - Helen Hunt Health Center
About The Position
PCHC is hiring an On-the-Job Trained Medical Assistant for the Helen Hunt Health Center. This paid training opportunity is designed for individuals pursuing a clinical role and provides hands-on experience while building the skills, confidence, and knowledge needed to work as a Medical Assistant. The trainee works alongside experienced mentors in a supportive, team-based environment and contributes to patient care while developing core clinical skills. The schedule during the program is full-time, Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The schedule will change after completion of the program but will remain within Monday through Friday.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and/or an appropriate length of driving experience for insurance purposes.
Nice To Haves
- Customer service or patient care experience.
- Medical or healthcare experience.
Responsibilities
- Learn to take patients’ vital signs.
- Assist with examinations and procedures.
- Learn to administer medications and immunizations.
- Help patients feel comfortable, informed, and supported throughout their care.
- Support patient flow, documentation, and daily operations as part of the care team.
- Help maintain clean, prepared examination spaces.
- Follow infection control standards to support a safe environment for patients and staff.
