On-The-Job Trained Medical Assistant - Helen Hunt Health Center
About The Position
PCHC is hiring an On-the-Job Trained Medical Assistant for its Helen Hunt Health Center. This paid, structured training opportunity is designed for individuals interested in a clinical role and direct patient care. The role combines guided learning with hands-on experience alongside experienced mentors in a supportive, team-based environment, providing a pathway to develop skills and pursue a long-term career at PCHC. The schedule is full-time, Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The schedule will change after completion of the program but will remain within Monday through Friday.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and/or an appropriate length of driving experience for insurance purposes. Driving record concerns are subject to individualized review to determine relevance to the responsibilities of the position, in accordance with PCHC’s Automobile Safety and Background Check Policy.
Nice To Haves
- Customer service or patient care experience preferred.
- Medical or healthcare experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Learn to take vital signs.
- Assist with examinations and procedures.
- Learn to administer medications and immunizations.
- Support safe, high-quality patient care.
- Connect with patients and help them feel comfortable, informed, and supported throughout their care.
- Support patient flow, documentation, and daily operations.
- Help maintain clean, prepared examination spaces and follow infection control standards.
- Work alongside Medical Assistants, providers, and clinical staff as part of a care team.
