About The Position

You will join Hitachi Energy’s Transformers Business Solutions IT organization as an OSS Onsite Services Engineer, supporting IT operations at our Varennes location. In this role, you provide hands‑on, desk‑side IT support for users in a manufacturing and industrial environment where reliability, responsiveness, and physical presence matter. Your work ensures that employees have secure, ready‑to‑use devices and dependable collaboration technology to keep daily operations running smoothly. You will be the local IT face of the organization, resolving incidents that require physical intervention while coordinating closely with centralized IT teams and external partners. From device lifecycle support and inventory management to meeting room technology and computer room checks, your contributions directly support operational continuity and user productivity. This role offers exposure to structured IT service delivery, asset and logistics management, and standardized IT governance within a global energy technology organization. Work schedule: 8am to 5pm

Requirements

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in Canada.
  • Formal qualification in IT from an accredited university or college, or completion of an apprenticeship in information technology
  • Minimum two years of professional experience in IT support
  • Fluent in the local language and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and self‑driven
  • Willing and able to work full‑time onsite at the assigned site or factory
  • Bilingual (French and English) required

Responsibilities

  • Provide desk‑side IT support and resolve incidents that require physical, on‑site intervention
  • Prepare and deliver computers and devices in a ready‑to‑use state for end users
  • Support meeting rooms and shared collaboration areas with IT equipment and software
  • Perform hardware inventory checks and manage device stock, including CMDB updates
  • Coordinate logistics for shipping and moving devices between locations using local providers
  • Handle warranty cases in collaboration with OEM vendors
  • Host and support third‑party technicians during onsite activities
  • Conduct regular checks of computer rooms, including temperature, cabling, and general functionality
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
