About The Position

The Substitute Teacher supports and advances the mission of FCS by filling in for absent teachers and assisting in various roles as directed by the Principal. This role reports to the building Principal. The Substitute Teacher is responsible for arriving on time to prepare for the day and assuming the teacher’s assigned responsibilities. They are expected to follow the lesson plan as closely as possible and maintain an orderly environment. Additionally, they will fulfill duties such as taking attendance and communicating with the regular teacher regarding work accomplished, student behavior, and any other pertinent information. The Substitute Teacher must also report hours worked in a timely and accurate manner.

Requirements

• Committed Christian with a close personal walk with the Lord and the Christian character qualities to serve as a role model for young people
• Regular in attendance at an evangelical Protestant church
• Commitment to a Biblical lifestyle, not promoting or engaging in premarital, extramarital, transgender, or homosexual behavior
• If married, a solid commitment based on Mark 10:9 and positive marital relationship
• Strong commitment to Christian education
• Ability to manage a class and relate well with students
• Teachable, servant spirit

Nice To Haves

• College degree and teaching experience preferred, but not required
