About The Position

This is an on-call, 0-36 hours per week position for a compassionate educator with a passion for helping students thrive and a commitment to creating a positive, inclusive learning environment. Requirements

High School Diploma or GED is required.
Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and leadership skills; including the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds; establish and maintain cooperative relationships and work successfully as a member of a team.
Excellent time management, problem-solving and organizational skills, with a proven ability to meet sometimes competing deadlines.
Superb verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to function well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software.
A valid Alaska Driver’s license and the ability to be insured on CVTC’s vehicle insurance policy is a requirement of this position.
Must complete and pass a pre-employment state and federal background check and drug screening as a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

A minimum of 6 to 12 months of relevant experience as a substitute teacher, tutor and/or camp counselor is preferred.
Caring, adaptable, and student-centered educator who is passionate about creating a positive and supportive learning environment.
Comfortable working with students in a multi-age setting.
Values collaboration, respects diverse backgrounds and perspectives, and brings patience, flexibility, and enthusiasm to the classroom.
Willingness to learn and participate in Ahtna language and cultural activities is highly valued.
