About The Position
Hospice of Chattanooga is seeking a full-time On-Call Registered Nurse to provide care and support to hospice patients and their families during critical moments. The role involves identifying patient and family needs, coordinating care, and offering preventive measures and compassionate support. The position serves Hamilton County and follows an on-call schedule from Monday through Thursday, 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
Requirements
- Hold a current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Have at least one year of RN experience in a medical-surgical or acute-care setting.
- Be computer proficient, including typing and using various programs; have a background in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Maintain current CPR certification if required by the state.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or health care preferred.
- Hospice experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Respond to patient needs, from urgent to routine.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation in patients’ homes and in accordance with agency and regulatory standards.
- Share knowledge and expertise with families, guiding and supporting them in caring for terminally ill loved ones.
