About The Position

St. Croix Hospice is seeking an On-Call Registered Nurse to provide responsive care as part of its 24/7 care model. The nurse supports patients and families during evenings, nights, and weekends by addressing urgent needs, completing after-hours admissions, and providing guidance during critical moments. The role follows a 7-days-on / 7-days-off overnight schedule and offers professional autonomy while supporting patients’ dignity, comfort, and quality of life.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (associate, bachelor's, or master's degree).
• At least 1 year of recent acute care experience.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Current CPR certification.
• Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and proof of auto insurance.

Nice To Haves

• Hospice or home care experience.

Responsibilities

• Respond to triage calls and provide after-hours nursing visits for symptom management, admissions, and care plan updates.
• Develop and adjust individualized care plans based on evolving needs.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments and provide education and support to patients and caregivers.
• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation of care, outcomes, and communication.
