About The Position

St. Croix Hospice is seeking a Registered Nurse On-Call to support its 24/7 care model. The nurse provides skilled, responsive care during evenings, nights, and weekends, addressing urgent patient needs, completing after-hours admissions, and guiding patients and families through critical moments. The role offers a 7-days-on/7-days-off overnight schedule and professional autonomy while supporting patients with dignity, comfort, and respect.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; an associate, bachelor's, or master's degree is accepted.
• At least 1 year of recent acute care experience.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Current CPR certification.
• Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and proof of auto insurance.

Nice To Haves

• Hospice or home care experience.

Responsibilities

• Respond to triage calls and provide after-hours nursing visits for symptom management, admissions, and care plan updates.
• Develop and adjust individualized care plans based on evolving needs.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments, and provide education and support to patients and caregivers.
• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation of care, outcomes, and communication.
