About The Position

Assisting Hands Home Care in Cary, North Carolina, is seeking dependable, flexible on-call caregivers and home care aides to cover open shifts and last-minute staffing needs. Caregivers remain at home during assigned on-call hours unless contacted to cover a shift. Work depends on client needs, call-outs, and scheduling requirements, and being on call does not guarantee a shift each day. Caregivers must be reachable during their scheduled availability and able to report to an assigned shift within the required timeframe. The position offers pay for scheduled on-call availability, including periods when the caregiver is not called in.

Requirements

Be dependable, flexible, and comfortable with changing assignments.
Be willing to work with a variety of clients with different personalities, routines, and care needs.
Be comfortable working in homes with pets, including dogs and cats.
Have strong communication skills and a professional attitude.
Be able to follow care plans and communicate with the office.
Have reliable transportation to assigned client locations.
Be able to meet applicable hiring, background screening, and training requirements.
Have previous caregiving experience.
Be reachable during scheduled on-call hours and able to report to an assigned shift within the required timeframe.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with personal care, including bathing, showering, and dressing, according to their individual care plans.
Provide companionship and emotional support.
Prepare meals and assist with eating as appropriate.
Provide medication reminders according to the care plan.
Perform light housekeeping related to the client's needs.
Support safe mobility and walking within training and assigned duties.
Communicate client updates, concerns, and changes in condition to the office.
Remain reachable during scheduled on-call hours and report to assigned shifts when required.
