On Air Talent (Part-Time) - Miami Radio
About The Position
Cox Media Group Miami Radio is hiring a part-time On-Air Host for WFLC Hits 97.3 and WFEZ Easy 93.1. The role is for a personality who can connect with audiences on-air, in person, and on social media, and create an engaging show rather than simply fill an air shift. The host should be a strong storyteller, understand forward momentum in a PPM environment, stay immersed in pop culture, and deliver compelling content with effective pacing and timing. Applicants must include an Air Check Package with their application. The host prepares and presents content, hosts assigned air shifts, operates the control board and audio equipment, and contributes to station events and revenue opportunities. They work closely with the program director to develop relatable content, execute the format, and achieve ratings goals, and collaborate with sales and promotions on promotions and personal endorsements.
Requirements
- Fluent spoken and written English.
- At least 1 year of on-air experience.
- Strong on-air presence.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Track record of success in ratings and revenue.
- Experience operating on-air and production equipment.
- Experience with audio software editing products such as Adobe Audition.
- Computer skills for audio delivery and automation systems such as Wide Orbit, word processing, audio editing, and web and social media.
- Availability as needed, including nights and weekends when required.
- Social media savvy and able to execute a PPM-friendly, engaging radio show for Miami, Florida.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work as a team player and within format parameters.
Nice To Haves
- TOP 40 or AC radio format experience.
Responsibilities
- Prepare format-related, lifestyle and cultural, and local content for shows.
- Write and post web and social media content.
- Write and deliver commercial or personal endorsement content.
- Host regular air shifts as assigned.
- Work with the program director to develop relatable content, execute the format, and deliver ratings goals.
- Operate the control board, including editing phone bits, interviews, and other audio.
- Participate in remotes and appearances at station or life group functions as assigned.
- Work with sales and promotions to maximize revenue opportunities through promotions and personal endorsements.
