OLED Device Engineer

AppleCupertino, CA

About The Position

Apple is looking for a creative, hands-on, self-motivated Engineer who will play a critical role in the design and performance of future displays used in Apple products. Our team has been at the forefront of cutting-edge OLED display technology, delivering multiple first-to-market displays with innovative, award-winning display performance. In this role, you will be designing, characterizing, and validating the performance of display prototypes, with a particular focus on the optoelectronic function of the display OLED pixels. This will be heavily supported by opto-electrical models and specialized measurements. This role involves collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, display vendors, and material vendors to design and invent OLED display components.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in (Applied) Physics, Electrical Engineering, Material Science or similar with 10 years of industry experience
  • Experience in the design, fabrication and characterization of organic optoelectronics materials and devices.
  • Solid understanding of organic optoelectronic device physics, optics as well as electronics
  • Experience in coding in Matlab, Python, C++, C or similar.

Nice To Haves

  • PhD in (Applied) Physics, Electrical Engineering, Material Science or similar and a minimum of 3 years relevant experience or Master's Degree with 7 years of industry experience
  • Experience with SPICE software packages such as Cadence, Synopsis, ALPS or similar
  • Experience with drift-diffusion models such as Setfos, Silvaco, or similar
  • Experience with building optoelectronics test equipment and measurement automation.
  • Expertise in the electrical and optical design and validation of optoelectronic devices with a particular focus on organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in active matrix flat panel displays strongly preferred, particularly in display optics and electronics, fabrication processes, and system design.
  • Proven track record in product development from ideation to commercialization in the display industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high aptitude to collaborate with team members from multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally.
  • Prior industrial or commercially relevant experience will be a key enabler to function in this role.

Responsibilities
