About The Position

Liberty Family of Dealerships is hiring an entry-level Oil Change Technician to help deliver the dealership’s expected level of service and value. The position performs routine oil changes and vehicle inspections, along with other maintenance, diagnostic, and repair work as specified on repair orders. The technician works with service and parts staff, keeps the shop orderly, uses tools and equipment safely, and communicates additional service needs to the Service Advisor.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong physical dexterity for working with tools.
Ability to collaborate with others in a team setting.

Basic computer skills.
Positive, friendly attitude and a customer-service mentality.
Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to learn new technology, repair and service procedures, and specifications.
Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

Entry-level qualifications in diagnostic, electrical, and engine repair are preferred.
Eagerness to improve.

Responsibilities

Document and perform work as outlined on repair orders, following dealership and factory standards.
Drain and replace engine oil and replace oil and air filters.
Inspect vehicle fluid levels and replenish or replace fluids as needed.
Check tire pressure and add air if needed.
Coordinate with the parts department to obtain needed parts.
Keep the shop area neat and clean.
Maintain accountability for dealership-owned tools and manuals.
Operate tools and equipment safely.
Perform repair-order work efficiently and in accordance with dealership standards.
Test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and service equipment.
Diagnose, maintain, and repair automotive systems, including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning systems.
Communicate directly with the Service Advisor about additional services needed so customers are informed.
Estimate the time needed for additional repairs.
Perform warranty repairs to manufacturer specifications.
