About The Position

The Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife is seeking to fill two (2) Office Specialist I positions in the Augusta office. These positions involve complex and varied office support tasks, including direct customer interaction via various channels (in-person, phone, internet, mail). Responsibilities include providing information on licensing and registration requirements, administering and issuing licenses and permits using the MOSES system and online platforms, and processing payments. Extensive computer and application experience is required.

Requirements

  • Competency in applying a proficient knowledge of modern office practices to perform advanced administrative support tasks requiring specialized skills.
  • Ability to use independent judgment, initiative, and discretion to make determinations on varied matters.
  • Extensive experience in the use of computers and various computer applications.
  • Office Assistant I, Office Assistant II, Office Associate I and Office Associate II qualifications.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in cash handling.
  • Experience working with the public both in person and on the phone.

Responsibilities

  • Performing complex varied office support tasks.
  • Working directly with customers in person, on the phone, through the internet, and by mail.
  • Providing oral and written information explaining various licensing and registration requirements in accordance with office standards.
  • Administering and issuing licenses, registrations, and miscellaneous licenses and permits on the MOSES system, and through the internet.
  • Processing and collecting payment for licenses and registrations (including closing out the register and balancing payments at the end of each day).
