Luster National•Baltimore, MD
•$90,000 - $150,000

About The Position

Luster is building a talent pool of Office Engineers at various skill levels for future hiring needs; this posting is not for a currently available, specific opportunity. Selected candidates may have their profiles activated in the talent pool and be notified first when a project need arises. These roles support large, complex heavy-civil infrastructure programs, including highways, roads, bridges, transit, aviation, and water/wastewater projects delivered through traditional and alternative methods. Office Engineers run the construction office and maintain complete, current records for submittals, RFIs, contract documentation, payment applications, and changes, supporting defensible decisions on payment, time, and entitlement during audits or claim reviews. The scope and complexity of responsibilities vary by experience level. The position requires a relevant bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and at least five years of office engineering experience on large, complex heavy-civil infrastructure projects valued above $500 million. Candidates should have experience administering submittal and RFI logs, knowledge of contract documents and construction payment and change documentation, and proficiency with construction/project management software and Microsoft Office. Preferred qualifications include a relevant master’s degree, professional certifications, and experience with major construction packages, large-scale payment programs, claims and change documentation, public agency procedures, labor compliance tools, and dashboard reporting software. The expected salary range is $90,000–$150,000 per year ($43–$72 per hour), with the actual offer dependent on factors including experience, skills, education, certifications, and location. Benefits include flexible time off, paid holidays, parental leave, insurance coverage, retirement contributions, professional development, wellness support, and other employee programs. Luster states that it is committed to an inclusive work environment and provides accommodations for the application process upon request.
