About The Position

STV is seeking an Office Engineer for our REI Group based in our Empire State Building, New York office. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with contract documents, specifications, and regulatory requirements through the review and verification of contractor submissions. The Office Engineer will manage and maintain essential project documentation, including RFIs/RFCs, submittals, daily reports, and change orders. Responsibilities also include coordinating and reviewing material sampling and testing to ensure compliance with project specifications and NYCDDC standards, and tracking material certifications and test results. The position involves preparing change orders, claims, material testing reports, and monthly pay estimates. Additionally, the Office Engineer will assist in coordinating project schedules, tracking progress, and maintaining accurate records of construction activities. This role requires preparing meeting agendas, taking accurate meeting minutes, and issuing reports to all parties after meetings. The Office Engineer will support field inspection teams by providing technical guidance, resolving issues, and ensuring compliance with project requirements. Effective communication with agency representatives, engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders is essential to facilitate project success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering and construction
  • Familiarity with CE&I processes, contract administration, and construction documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to work on-site as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior NYCDCC experience
  • Professional Engineer License is a plus
  • OSHA 10 Hour Construction Training
  • Working knowledge of Bluebeam, Compass and AASHTOWare project (AWP)

Responsibilities
