About The Position

The Office Assistant is responsible for greeting patrons and assisting with the operations of the front desk for the Planning & Development Team. This role involves a variety of tasks to ensure smooth front desk operations and excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift heavy objects.
  • Ability to provide instructions on equipment use.
  • Ability to maintain a clean work area.
  • Ability to perform light manual labor.
  • Ability to answer telephone and direct inquiries.
  • Ability to attend and participate in staff meetings and in-service training.
  • Ability to report unsafe conditions, matters of theft, or illegal action.

  • Experience in customer service.
  • Experience with cash registers and fee collection.
  • Experience in facility maintenance.
  • Experience in supervising staff.

Responsibilities

  • Registering patrons, collecting fees, operating cash registers and issuing fee receipt tickets.
  • Selling merchandise and maintaining shelf stock of supplies.
  • Dispensing rental equipment, which may include lifting of heavy objects, and providing instructions on use to patrons.
  • Greeting visitors, handling inquiries, and providing information and assistance.
  • Informing patrons of rules and regulations.
  • Assisting with the hiring of front desk staff.
  • Supervising customer service attendants, assisting with training and evaluation of front desk staff.
  • Maintaining a clean work area, providing general care of equipment, materials, and facility.
  • Cleaning of restrooms and performing light manual labor.
  • Answering telephone and directing inquiries.
  • Attending and participating in staff meetings and in-service training.
  • Reporting unsafe conditions, matters of theft, or illegal action to the Manager on Duty.
  • Carrying out additional duties as assigned by facility management or supervisor on duty.
