The Office of the Public Defender (MOPD) is seeking applicants for our Rockville, Maryland location who are detail-oriented with excellent organizational and writing skills, as well as problem-solving skills, to transport and store case files. The primary responsibility for this position is to support the attorneys by pulling and sorting case files, downloading discovery, filing, answering phones, and general office duties. Additionally, this position will provide assistance with data entry which will require use of our internal database (eDefender) and use of various judiciary websites (MDEC, Case search, Jportal). The Office Clerk II position is responsible for providing records management support. Primary responsibilities for this position include filing, storing and transport of case files, closing case files, answering phone calls, managing and storing incoming discovery, routing phone calls, and distribution of information to attorneys, and additional duties as assigned. Employees in this classification do not supervise.
