About The Position

The Office of the Public Defender is seeking detailed oriented applicants with excellent communication skills and experience working with the public to fill the full-time Office Clerk II position available statewide offices of the Public Defender. The Office Clerk II will answer phones, take messages, greet clients, direct and provide information about the Office of the Public Defender services to clients. Data entry of case information, opening and sorting mail and filing will also be required in the position.

Requirements

  • Completion of the eighth grade
  • One year experience performing clerical duties in an office environment
  • Ability to communicate with clients and visitors
  • Ability to complete tasks in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
  • Access to a motor vehicle or ability to navigate public transportation

Nice To Haves

  • High School or GED
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite Software
  • Data Entry experience
  • Experience handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communications skills and experience working with the public
