About The Position

The Department of Corrections (IDOC) is seeking to hire an Office Associate. This role involves keyboarding and preparing correspondence, assisting in the maintenance of individual in custody records, processing time revocations and restorations, inputting grade demotions, maintaining continuous count sheets for the facility, and assisting in the processing of Furloughs. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who can multitask. The position is a union position and subject to the terms of the relevant collective bargaining agreement. Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and two (2) years of office experience.
  • Requires the ability to keyboard accurately 45 words per minute.
  • Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen.
  • Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.
  • Applicants are required to abide by all vaccine and/or other medical standards as set out by the employer.

Responsibilities

  • Keyboards and prepares all correspondence including memos, reports and documents utilizing Microsoft Office programs.
  • Assists in the maintenance of individual in custody records to include coding, filing, recording of various reports, documents, and data in the appropriate individual master file record.
  • Processes all time revocations and restorations and inputs all grade demotions as recorded from Disciplinary Reports and Adjustment Committee documentation.
  • Maintains continuous individual in custody count sheets for facility both on paper and through utilization of the Offender 360 system to monitor all individual's movement in or out of the Facility.
  • Assists in the processing of Furloughs for the institution.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
