About The Position

Assists the Transportation Supervisor, drivers, and mechanic with clerical duties. This includes data entry for STARS and other reports, answering phones, and managing radio traffic. The role requires maintaining a student-centered, organized, and positive climate, with effective communication skills for interacting with students, parents, community members, and school personnel. The position involves tracking bus ridership, communicating with parents about student transportation, assisting with administrative details, record maintenance, filing, and office procedures. First aid care may also be provided. The role demands the ability to accept responsibility, take direction, work collaboratively, and comply with district rules and regulations, performing all duties safely. Specific tasks include managing payroll timesheets, tracking student transportation, and handling accounts payable/receivable, sending relevant information to the district office.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Transcripts for Associate of Arts degree; or showing 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at an institution of higher education; or showing a passing grade of 455 or higher for the ETS ParaPro Assessment
  • Driver abstract/valid driver’s license
  • Ability to maintain a student centered, organized positive climate
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively
  • Communicate and respond effectively and in a friendly, professional manner with students, parents, community members, and school personnel
  • Confidential with a thorough knowledge of the school's purpose, functions, and practices
  • Ability to accept responsibility and take direction
  • Work collaboratively and collegially
  • Comply with district rules and regulations
  • Conduct all work in a safe manner as specified by district rules
  • Skilled at record keeping and computers
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Skyward Student Information System
  • Valid First Aid/CPR/AED card or ability to attain one
  • Fingerprinting (paid by employee)
  • I-9 Employment Eligibility in compliance with the Immigration Reform Act
