About The Position

Augsburg University is seeking a student to work in the Office of Undergraduate Research and Graduate Opportunity (URGO) during the academic year. This position offers an opportunity for students to gain meaningful work experience in a supportive setting that promotes professional growth, personal accountability, teamwork, collaboration, and quality work aligned with the university's mission. URGO connects students with research and scholarship opportunities, provides advising for graduate schools and fellowships, and supports students participating in research programs. The student assistant will work approximately 5-10 hours per week.

Requirements

Must be a current Augsburg student.
Work-study eligibility is required.
Strong writing skills.
Friendly and accommodating demeanor.
Experience with multiple technologies (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, various online applications).
Proficiency in social media and willingness to work on marketing for the office.
Attentive to detail.
Organized.
Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

Serve as the receptionist for the URGO office, welcoming researchers, staff, and students.
Schedule advising appointments.
Answer questions from students, staff, and researchers.
Manage the URGO email account.
Sort and update electronic documents.
Write and submit A-Mail announcements.
Create written story profiles for social media, including some video content creation.
Develop posters and announcements to advertise events.
Maintain the URGO website.
Assist with the creation and distribution of the newsletter.
Assist with budget entries and paperwork.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the office space.
Support URGO initiatives through tabling and classroom visits.
Order supplies for research teams.
Assist with event planning and facilitation.
Track student research attendance.
