About The Position

This position is accountable to perform clerical and administrative support duties in the Volunteer Services Office and MWH and SH. The role interfaces courteously and effectively with all volunteers, patients, and visitors to give assistance, answer questions, and facilitate departmental operations, presenting a positive departmental image. The Office Assistant performs routine clerical duties in a timely and effective manner, cross-trains and supports volunteer assignments to provide additional coverage, support, or relief for those positions as needed. They monitor and maintain levels of office supplies, uniforms, and volunteer event supplies as requested by the department. The position updates the database with the status and schedules of volunteers and provides reports using a variety of computer programs to facilitate communication of information. Additionally, the Office Assistant provides support to the Gift Shop and Auxiliary by assisting with inventory, fundraisers, and special events. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Proficient interpersonal, writing and other communication skills necessary.
  • Efficient working knowledge and experience with MS Office required.
  • Constant (67-100% of workday) sitting and use of arms and hands.
  • Occasional (0-33% of workday) standing, walking, bending, squatting.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 10 lbs.
  • Auditory and visual skills.
  • Possesses critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of automated systems and data reporting applications including Volgistics, Workday, and other Microsoft applications preferred.
