About The Position

The Residential Life office assistant, student employee is responsible for providing routine customer service, as well as clerical and administrative duties according to established procedures. This role supports the mission of the University and serves as an ambassador of the Q2 culture of service excellence. The employee will model, support, and hold others accountable to the University’s values. This position requires the ability to learn and apply institutional policies and procedures, and maintain appropriate office supply inventory.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled at Lindenwood University
  • Good academic, social, and financial standing with the University
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask, think critically, and use good judgement
  • Strong professional integrity
  • Basic research skills
  • Ability to learn and apply institutional policies and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Supports the mission of the University and serves as an ambassador of the Q2 culture of service excellence
  • Models, supports, and holds others accountable to the University’s values
  • Writes, edits, formats, and proofreads documents
  • Performs data aggregation
  • Assists with check-in and check-out according to established procedures
  • Assists with daily operations of residence halls, including but not limited to lockouts, room changes, maintenance requests, and housing sign ups
  • Responds to the needs of students, colleagues, and community members in a timely and courteous manner
  • Answers phone, responds to email, forwards messages, and confirms appointments
  • Maintains appropriate office supply inventory
  • Compiles and organizes information into relevant reports
  • Maintains filing systems and utilizes basic word processing, database, and spreadsheet skills daily
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of desk and common areas
  • Collects, organizes, and composes correspondence for department staff
  • Interprets the needs of students and visitors and makes appropriate referrals for service
  • Job may require other duties as assigned.
