About The Position

Performs intermediate skilled clerical work performing a variety of secretarial and office assistance tasks such as serving as receptionist; preparing, maintaining, and receiving records and files; scheduling appointments; typing, word processing, and data processing duties; compiling data; does related work as required. Work is performed under regular supervision.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, equipment and secretarial techniques
  • Thorough knowledge of business English, spelling, and arithmetic
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures
  • Ability to make arithmetical calculations and to set up forms and statistical tables
  • Ability to type accurately at a reasonable rate of speed
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to meet the public effectively
  • Skill in the operation of standard office, word, and data processing equipment
  • High School Diploma or equivalent from an appropriately accredited institution and two (2) years of office assistant or secretarial experience OR Associate Degree from an appropriately accredited institution in Secretarial Science, Business Administration, or related field
  • Reaching, and repetitive motions
  • Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly
  • Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound
  • Visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, operation of machines, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities
