About The Position

An Admissions Office Assistant is often the first point of contact for prospective students and their families. Admissions Office Assistants provide a positive representation of Washburn University as they greet visitors, answer questions received via phone call, keep personalized campus visits running smoothly, assist with campus visit events, assist admissions professional staff with various tasks and projects, and contribute to the overall new student recruitment efforts. Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled at Washburn University or Washburn Tech.
  • In good academic standing.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and confidently to groups of individuals and families.

Responsibilities

  • Available to work in the Admissions Office during regular business hours (M-F; 8:00am - 5:00pm).
  • Greet and provide a positive customer service experience to in-person campus visitors.
  • Answer the admissions phone line and provide a positive customer service experience to callers.
  • Learn the ins and outs of the admissions process and utilize that knowledge to help guide prospective students and their families as needed.
  • Learn to use CRM Recruit and ERP Banner software.
  • Process and input prospective student information.
  • Walk visitors to respective meetings and locations around campus as needed.
  • Learn basic historical and practical knowledge about Washburn University to share with prospective students and families.
  • Be able to share resources, helpful tips, and your personal Washburn experience in a positive and engaging manner.
  • Provide follow-up phone call reminders to prospective students who are scheduled for personalized campus visits and other campus visit events but did not attend.
  • Assist the Office Coordinator with daily office tasks (i.e. going through mail, stocking office supplies, etc.)
  • Attend all training that is provided for this position.
  • Document phone calls within the CRM system.
  • High Level of customer service.
  • Perform additional job duties as assigned.
