About The Position

This position is responsible for supervising two Office Assistant 2's in the Operations Department. They are responsible in assisting the public and clerical support for "D" Detachment including but not limited to answering all non-emergency incoming business lines, greeting the public, extensive report processing to include criminal history requests and processing Sex Offender Registration forms. This office is the first point of contact with the general public and requires exceptional customer service abilities and organizational and management skills. The Alaska State Troopers' (AST) mission is to preserve the peace, enforce the law, prevent and detect crimes, and protect life and property. As a member of AST, you will be instrumental in ensuring this mission is met by providing direct support for the D Deatchment's Troopers and civilian personnel.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or the equivalent.
  • One year of office work experience providing a broad range of clerical support that includes performing reception duties, answering routine questions on services or products, retrieving information from electronic or hard copy files, recording expenditures and receipts, or typing routine correspondence.
  • Alaska Residency Requirements must be met.
  • Solid judgement.
  • Objective reasoning.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Interpersonal and Team Building Skills: Shows understanding, friendliness, courtesy, tact, empathy, concern, and politeness to others.

Responsibilities
