About The Position

This position is open to Alaska Residents only. The Department of Family and Community Services, Office of Children's Services (OCS) is recruiting for full-time Office Assistant 2 located in Anchorage, Alaska. As an Office Assistant 2, you will support the administrative team by providing a full range of essential office services. In this role, you will help ensure smooth daily operations by verifying and logging transactions, processing payroll tasks, and managing routine administrative workflows. Your responsibilities will include detailed data entry, maintaining and organizing files and records, handling mail and inventory, assisting with invoicing, and providing backup support for other administrative duties as needed. Requirements

  • High school diploma or the equivalent.
  • One year of experience that includes clerical tasks such as greeting clients, answering phones, typing, filing, sorting mail, entering data, receiving payments, making change, or maintaining logs.
  • Clerical knowledge: filing, typing, entering data, maintaining records, and using and completing forms.
  • Computer Skills: Uses computers, software applications, databases, and automated systems to accomplish work.
  • Customer Service: Works with clients and customers to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
  • Reading Comprehension: Comprehends and correctly applies information presented in written form. Makes correct inferences; draws accurate conclusions.
  • Attention to Detail: Sees and pays attention to details; recognizes the component parts of a procedure or object and can verify correctness or error in an individual part or procedure.
  • Successful completion of a background investigation, including fingerprinting and a criminal records check.
  • Current automotive insurance must be in place prior to use of a personal vehicle while conducting business on behalf of the State.
  • Must possess a regular driver's license and be 18 years of age or older (for positions requiring operation of motor vehicles).
  • Skill in typing may be required for some positions.
