About The Position

S&ME is excited to welcome a passionate and enthusiastic individual to join our office team as a part-time Office Administrator. This in-person role will support our Atlanta, Georgia office. At S&ME, we have a history of delivering innovative geotechnical, civil, environmental, and construction material testing for over 50 years. As a part-time Office Administrator, you will be the welcoming face of our organization, ensuring the smooth and efficient daily operations of our local office. Working independently, you will support the entire office with essential clerical and organizational tasks, all while maintaining a positive and professional environment. Your responsibilities will also extend to project administration tasks, making this role both dynamic and integral to our success.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 0-4 years of experience in a relevant field
  • Ability to work well independently and under deadline situations, and respond to changes in priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - verbal and written
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Must comply with our Fleet Management, Substance Policy, and Reference Check requirements.
  • Must have valid employment eligibility (I-9)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the collection, distribution, and organization of mail, letters, and reports.
  • Handle phone calls, photocopying, and electronic filing with efficiency and a smile.
  • Order, stock, and monitor office, breakroom, and janitorial supplies.
  • Facilitate onboarding activities for new hires, including orientation logistics and paperwork.
  • Prepare accurate weekly payroll documentation for local employees, ensuring everyone gets paid on time.
  • Assist managers in coordinating and setting up meetings, events, and training sessions, making sure all logistical details are covered for a seamless experience.
  • Act as the primary contact for facilities maintenance requests and fleet management.
  • Handle service calls, inspections, recalls, and Geotab installations with precision.
  • Lead the management of the office fleet of vehicles, including maintaining logbooks, entering mileage into the S&ME accounting system, handling registration renewals, and coordinating vehicle maintenance and Geotab installations.
  • Support the management of office projects by entering data into S&ME's accounting system, including project-related expenses and laboratory testing units.
  • Assist S&ME engineering staff with the preparation of reports, including creating formal boring logs, ensuring accuracy and professionalism.
