About The Position

Cleveland Gear Company is seeking energetic, highly motivated, and take-charge individuals for the OD/Thread Grinder position on the 2nd shift. This role is for a leading manufacturer of high-quality worm gearing, industrial speed reducers, and customized gear drives. Requirements

One (1) year experience in manufacturing.
Working knowledge of equipment and tools.
Operate material handling equipment.
Able to read, write, and count in English.
Ability to lift 40lbs.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
Knowledge of Grinding.
Ability to Read Blueprints, Schematics and Manuals.
Analytical Skills using micrometers, calipers, gages.
Work from blueprints to identify component/manufacturing specifications.
Set-up and operate manual and/or CNC grinding.
Select Proper feeds and speeds.
Ability to check parts to specifications using gauges and related measuring devices.
Ability to inspect parts and make adjustments according to blueprint specifications.
Perform basic troubleshooting and make appropriate adjustments.
Rotate between various department work centers as required.

Responsibilities

Ability to follow standardized work and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.
Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment.
Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops.
Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials.
