About The Position

Working under minimal supervision, level two operators demonstrate the ability to perform level one responsibilities along with performing basic setups and employing more advanced grinding techniques, including measuring surface finish, use of calipers, and any other measuring device required.

Requirements

Basic ability to read and interpret process sheets.
Basic use and interpretation of measuring equipment
Basic understanding of shop mathematics
Basic understanding of grinding functions
Ability to communicate effectively to team members, lead, supervisor, manager and others.
Ability to be certified to operate forklift and overhead crane.
Ability to wear a respirator
US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required due to government military contracts.
High school diploma or GED
1 to 3 years of manufacturing experience; prior military experience; or technical certification / degree required

Responsibilities

Obtain job assignments from lead, supervisor or manager.
Work safely in accordance to plant safety guidelines including cardinal rules of safety.
Adheres to quality processes including in-process inspections to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
Load and unload material
Perform daily inspection of equipment such as grinders, forklift, overhead cranes, etc.
Complete production reports accurately and timely.
Perform transactions in Quality Management System as applicable.
Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
Perform daily housekeeping / 6S activities as required.
Perform other duties as requested by lead, supervisor or manager.
