About The Position

This position involves operating deburring equipment to achieve required edge breaks and radii according to work instructions. The role requires knowledge of deburring media, customer specifications for visual non-conformances and surface finishes, and the ability to perform hand drilling, drill press operations, tapping, and assembly. The Metal Grinder will utilize measuring equipment, read blueprints and specifications, and complete required documentation. Good organizational and housekeeping skills are essential, along with an understanding and implementation of the Company's quality policy. The role also requires adherence to societal requirements, including laws, regulations, environmental considerations, and health and safety factors. If assigned to the Repair Station, compliance with the Company's FAA Inspection Procedures Manual and FAR 65 is necessary. The employee must ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, complete compliance training, and stay updated on changing regulations and policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch; and smell.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the USA.

Responsibilities

  • Operate all deburring equipment required in the performance of the position.
  • Achieve the required edge break and/or radius as required by work instructions.
  • Utilize knowledge of deburring media and the selection of the proper type as defined by the work instructions.
  • Apply knowledge of customer specifications pertaining to visual non-conformances and surface finishes.
  • Perform hand drilling and drill press operations.
  • Tap holes and perform assembly operations.
  • Utilize measuring equipment such as height gage, micrometers, calipers, radius gages, thread gages, etc., as applicable.
  • Read, interpret and work from blueprints, sketches, or product specifications.
  • Complete required documentation related to work order.
  • Demonstrate good organizational skills.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices.
  • Understand, implement, and maintain the Company's quality policy in the performance of all duties and responsibilities.
  • Ensure that requirements of society, including laws, statutes, rules and regulations, codes, environmental considerations, health and safety factors, and conservation of energy and materials are understood, implemented, and maintained.
  • If assigned to the Repair Station, assume responsibility for ensuring compliance with the Company's FAA Inspection Procedures Manual and FAR 65, as amended.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations.
  • Complete all required compliance training.
  • Maintain knowledge of and adhere to MB Aerospace’s internal compliance policies and procedures.
  • Take responsibility to keep up to date with changing regulations and policies.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly workstation and promote overall good housekeeping practices.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
