Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent required.
Thorough understanding of metal finishing tools/equipment.
Basic understanding of technical plans, drawings, models and blueprints.
Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms.
Basic understanding of mathematics.
Ability to measure parts with edge testers, surface profilometers, calipers and micrometers.
Good teamwork skills.
Ability to pass a grinding assessment.

Nice To Haves

Technical certificate or degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Utilize hand grinders, stroke sanders, belt sanders, and other grinding tools and equipment.
Set up and run timesavers and other types of automatic deburring machines.
Follows work order procedures and routings; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions, drawings, and specifications provided for the job.
Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.
Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.
Follows Control of Nonconforming Product Procedure.
Follows procedures in relation to inspection of parts.
Cross Train in other areas of the plant as necessary to meet production demands.
Adheres to all safety rules and guidelines.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
