About The Position

This position involves setting up and operating various types of grinders (internal, centerless, surface, external, thread, and universal) for production, experimental, and tool work. The role requires performing difficult grinding tasks on any type of grinder, including grinding steps, tapers, recesses, shoulders, angles, contours, and threads. Additionally, the position requires the ability to set up truing devices for various thread forms, select appropriate speeds, feeds, and wheels, and hold work to required tolerances, often involving exacting setups with accurately set fixtures, rests, or blocks.

Requirements

• Three years of production grinding experience including setup.
• Must be a U.S. person within the meaning of ITAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee).

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates internal, centerless, surface, external, thread and universal grinders for production, experimental, and tool work.
• Performs any type of difficult grinding work on any and all types grinders.
• Grinds steps, tapers, recesses, shoulders, angles, contours and threads.
• Sets up truing devices on thread grinding for various types and forms of threads.
• Selects proper speeds, feeds, and wheels.
• Holds work to required tolerances.
