Requirements

  • DEC or equivalent education
  • Mandatory experience in ocean freight
  • Five (5) years of experience in the field
  • 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Very good knowledge of the MS Office environment

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the activities of the various agents on the Ocean Import team in order to meet clients’ changing needs.
  • Manage the performance of the agents on the team and act as an agent for certain major clients.
  • Know and comply with ocean import procedures.
  • Work closely and engage with sales representatives to maintain and retain clients.
  • Ensure a high level of customer service.
  • Maintain a high level of relationship with the CEVA network.
  • Ensure compliance with the procedures put in place for ISO and performance measurement.
  • Structure, organize, and distribute the flow of operations.
  • Hold team members accountable.
  • Create a work environment based on respect and collaboration.
  • Evaluate staff performance and implement the necessary improvement plans.
  • Act as an agent for designated clients (bookings, deliveries, quotations, follow-up, and customer service).
  • Manage personnel, including evaluations and corrective actions.
  • Train and onboard new employees.
  • Complete training related to the position, including but not limited to good distribution practices for pharmaceutical products, transportation of dangerous goods, and WHMIS/GHS, depending on departmental needs.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor.
