About The Position

The Ocean Import Specialist will be responsible for the daily maintenance, tracking, and tracing of international shipments. This role involves professional communication with various stakeholders including truckers, warehouses, steamship lines, and other forwarders. The specialist will also maintain and update client information and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and ensure punctual follow-up on all inquiries from customers, agents, and MAO offices. A key aspect of the role is providing excellent customer service to resolve customer issues. The specialist will coordinate door-to-door sea freight forwarding of international shipments, manage client information updates (contacts, special instructions, specific requirements), and engage in daily interactions and reporting with local management. Additionally, the role requires ensuring accurate and timely billing for clients and vendors within company guidelines and timelines, and negotiating cost-effective rates with service providers to maximize profitability.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (both verbal and written)

Responsibilities

Daily maintenance and tracking and tracing of international shipments
Professional communication with truckers, warehouses, steamship lines, and other forwarders on a daily basis
Maintain/Update Client information and SOPs
Punctual daily follow up of all inquiries from customers, agents and MAO offices
Provide excellent Customer Service to ensure customer issues are resolved
Coordinate Sea Freight Forwarding of international shipments from Door to Door
Maintain/Update Client information; change in contact, special instructions, and any other specific requirements
Daily interactions and reporting to local management
Ensuring accurate and timely client and vendors billing within company guidelines and timelines
Negotiate cost-effective rates with service providers to ensure maximum profitability
