Our client, a leading global freight forwarder, is seeking an Ocean Import Coordinator to join their team. This role is based onsite in Jamaica, NY, and requires an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment with experience in managing A-to-Z ocean import coordination and a passion for delivering exceptional service.

Requirements

• 2-5 years in ocean import coordination.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and internet research.
• Strong organizational skills and a sharp eye for accuracy.
• Versatile and flexible to adapt to changing priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• A dedication to delivering high standards and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Manage Documentation: Receive, review, and process import documents to ensure smooth shipments.
• Track and Trace Shipments: Keep clients and sales teams updated on shipment status.
• Ensure Accuracy: Process and distribute documentation timely and accurately.
• Provide Solutions: Obtain competitive quotes and identify the best transportation methods.
• Coordinate Customs: Work with brokers and carriers to manage clearances and examinations.
• Build Client Relationships: Communicate effectively with overseas agents, transportation agencies, and sales teams to maintain strong professional connections.
• Streamline Processes: Continuously seek cost-reduction opportunities while maximizing revenue.
• Prioritize Customer Satisfaction: Uphold high standards of service and professionalism.
• Handle Billing: Maintain shipment files and ensure billing accuracy within deadlines.
